Some work some don't?
I've been backing up with nero, and using swap magic to play 'em on dvd-r good luck so far w/ drakengaurd, red dead revolver, madden ect. but silent hill 3 and 007 everything or nothing, boot but stop, 007 plays 2 levels and hangs and sh3 boots to a black screen w/ silent hill 3 displayed in the bottom right of the screen and stops am I missing something?

You need to get a real mod chip and all of your problems will be solved. ;)
|
Well... now what?
What do you suggest? And will the copies i have work after that? Also is it new copy protection?
|
There is no new protection that I am aware of and yes your backups should work fine. I recommend a Duo2 chip. I use a Duo myself and its a great chip.
Directly booting your backups is far better than the swap method, not to mention no more headaches of a game not being compatible. ;) |
makes no sense...
If there are no new copy protections than they should all work the same right? Whats the diff?
|
Some games are simply not compatible with the swap method. We could get alot further into detail on the pros and cons of the ole swaparoo but its all been covered plenty of times already so I wont rehash it all. Its all cons and no pros anyway. If you want, you can check out some of the related threads listed at the bottom of this thread and do a search on swap magic.
I just try to keep it simple and to the point. Swap Magic sux! It will wear out your drive in no time. Swap is also much harder on your laser as it has to read from all of the swaps to finally play the game. S.W.A.P. = ( Still Worthless And Proven) A real chip will directly boot your game backups and doesnt have any compatiblity issues to worry about. Every game backup I have thrown at my Duo chip has been flawless. I have had a few bad burns however due to damaged media but for the most part, no probs here. Normally rather than get into a bunch of details, I just recommend what works and thats it. Straight and to the point. ;) Call me "simple" I guess. :p |
