should have read the rules

:( please exuse me for my last thread i created, i was totaly ignorant of the rules of thread postings...but anyways i have a question, and i know a lot of people other than myself would also like to know----> does anyone know why some purchased games are not able to be installed when trying to back-up?, i was just wondering, there are a few games that i own that i just would love to keep for ever and am afraid of, lets say my lil bro scratching the disc, or something totaly freaky happening to the disc preventing me from playing my favorite games... i know some questions cant be answered, and things are just the way it is..

You trying to install to the PS2s HDD or burn to a DVD-R Disc? Either way will do, but the HDD loads quicker and places less strain on the laser... :)

i have the 50001 model, and i currently have no modchip, i was trying to backup star ocean, champions of norrath, and viewtiful joe, i get different results of them not being able to work, like freezing, or a black screen of death, is it the encoding that makes games non-back-upable :p

There is the problem! You need a mod chip to play your backups. I recommend a Duo2 chip. That'll solve your probs. ;)

EDIT: Check out the ultimate info sticky as well. It has alot of useful info there and may answer alot of future questions as well!
