CD 2 DVD Conversions (Not very helpful Members)

I recently asked how can I burn FarCry and UT2004 CDs into a DVD. I made a mistake on not searching first, but....

the posts with those "answers" were not very clear to me and it seems to other members which are not dumb but inexperienced in such cases.

The replies are "look first", etc. And some other replies say about fat americans being lazy from changing CDs, which I say is not that people all over are lazy, but when you are in a hurry w/ or w/o kids in a big city you want to do things as fast as possible.

You should see the replies on the Doom 3 DVD Conversion, they were only concerned in helping and they posted it in a way even rookies can understand it. I personally thank those Members.

I read every single reply about FarCry and I found no answer like the Doom 3 case.

I hope the Webmasters don't get mad at me, but it's only a point of view.

if you still got a problem, reply on the already created topic threads.

If people flamed you then use google and have a look for a topic...

As for farcry I found it simple to understand and got it right first time following the instructions in the topic....Maybe you should just ask for clearer instructions

In defense of Hlof he's partly right, I registered here to post in the Sims 2 thread as no one in over 7 pages of posts had actually posted exactly what to do. It was a thread of bits of information.

Well the thing is there is no fully working sims2 no-cd out yet so no one knows what working ones you can download unless you want one that has build mode disbales and no ability to save..I believe people have posted multiple times to download the no-cd and then replace it with the .exe in the file so they have actually answered your question. Also if you waned to know you could have searched it on gcw or ***

Yes there is a fully working nocd for Sims 2 I'm using it. Granted it's not a cracked exe it's the method using a disk image but still it works fully, build functions and all.

No the first mistake you made was not buying these games on DVD! Well Farcry anyway! :D Not actually sure if UT2004 was available on DVD? Wasn't where I bought it from! But Farcry was! :p
And UT2004 is straight forward enough to put on DVD. Dont know about Farcry tho as mines already on DVD so i didnt bother reading up on it.
I would write it up for you but far to tired for that now.......goodnight! ;)

P.S: But if I'm not busy tommorrow Ill write it out for you then. :)

Its true that with FarCry and UT2004, there are numerous confusing posts as to how to convert dvd. This is probably because those were 2 titles that made CD2DVD Conversions popular on here. It would have been easier to post your queries in 1 of the threads devoted to those games, rather than opening a new thread.

Concerning Sims 2. Better to have 1 thread with a tiny bit of info than millions of threads with no info at all. ;)

I agree with HLOf!! I to am looking for FarCry dvd back up and didnt understand the intructions but was cited as lazy ect.... No one took the time to read my post or ask me any questions, but were all quick to insult.

I have bought the game in cd format, but would like a back up for my sons computer when I get a chance to visit.

I have searched google, but like I said I am not understanding them!!

So could anybody simplify the instructions for us plz?

Thanks!

All over fileforums there are requests for help with dvd conversions. I thought it would be a good idea just to post a thread with just solutions for the conversions. But it would likely get ignored from a member. So why doesntone of the moderators make a sticky. It would at least stop newbies getting confusing instructions.

JoyBoy 29-09-2004 16:58

Having 1 thread would, in my opinion, be even more confusing, with the numerous games that people would want to convert to DVD. If others feel the same way as you, then I would gladly stick it in the Guides, Tutorials, Hints Sticky to see how it goes. (That sticky needs updating anyhow ;) )

Maybe it is time someone translate into english some of the guides available in spanish about installation issues at CdSTeam.

I don't want to do spam.... maybe Grumpy would like to translate ( i will help him with translation) the different methods depending on the different installer. There is a game copy-protection list with installer files too in such web site.

If someone (admin/colaborator/whatever...) PM me could make this web site more confortable for everybody.

good luck!

You are one of the lucky few who have earned the right to spam. :)

Anyways, if the guides are already available over on your site, I have no problems sticking a link to them in the relevant thread. I'll just let you, Grumpy and Luciel sort out the English translation first.
