Yes its free as soon as you make your connection. All you need is the network adapter to plug in to the back for your internet and then you should be all set.

ok since i have cable internet , all i need to do is buy the thingy that goes to the back of the ps2 then just take the wire from my cable modem and plug it into my ps2 adapter and play right ? Oh and how much is the adapter ? I dont remember wasnt it like $30 or $40 ?

Exactly on the cable question! The adapter runs about $30 and you should be able to find one at your local walmart or kmart if you have one or you can check out best buy.

and on that note what are some good games for online gameplay ? I know u can use a head set for some games not all right ? and if u cant use a head set then how are u ganna comunicate with other poeple ?

Socom 1&2 are always fun multiplayer

i will agree all the way with socom 1 & 2 ,as far as the headset goes GET 1
as far as i am aware nearly all ps2 online titles have headset capability if they dont then theres no need for 1 in that game ,,,go get it done coz you wont look back :D im still addicted to socom 2 after all this time :rolleyes:

But some games for PS2 you have to pay a monthly subscription to that individual game e.g. Everquest or wateva it is. But all the decent games you dont. Dont suck like xbox :p ;)
