Better VGA Box Brand?

I know VGA needs to be enabled in the IP.bin but are most backups already enabled? I think so but just want to make sure.

What are the better brands to buy?
Hais?
How is MADNESS GAMEWARE, which is in a translucent box?
Thx for your help. I can't easily search vga since it's under 4 chars!

Some are and some aren't.Most seem to be left as the game authors intended as the games that aren't already vga-patched tend to run poorly or look terrible in vga mode. It's pretty easy to check, just use one of the ip.bin tools to see if it has vga support.

Thanks, my friend already told me too. How about the additional question I just added?

I have a Hais VGA box and it's great! I used to have a Shinybow one, but I sold that and then realised afterwards I needed a VGA box again as I bought a new TV

I have patched a few non-vga backups by doing a little hex editting on the cdi file. This saves you having to recompile the disc so it's self bootable again.
Have a look here

Thx. I got the Hais already.
Also to hex edit, you will need one that has no size limit like HEdit.

Has anyone gotten Hydro Thunder to work with VGA? I read on the HDTV site that if you flip the switch at the end of the Sega screen, it will work but I still get a rolling screen. It does not roll with RCA/S-vid. Thx.
