have you got service pack 2 yet? i got it about a week ago and my pc has been playing up since. it sounds like your drivers have disappeared look there first (try windows update)

@ Amatur3 and Jaime Sommers
Like 'bandit-600' asked, have you installed 'service Pack 2'? I have read many bad things about the SP2 Update! It has caused many people problems! There is a site (somewhere? use google to search for it as I cant remember where it is) detailing these problems! If you have installed it you may have to format your system! And a lot of programs and games dont like it! I wont install it untill I can be sure it has been fixed!! |
Yep, SP 2!
I have tried everything, windows update etc and am absolutely stuck! I don't know what to do with the drive , I don't know how to format and my whole system is crawling since I installed the wretched thing! |
try this
well i think i've sorted out my system, did a complete format and rebooted with the disk i got with the pc (kept in a safe place best advice i,ve been given) then before i did anything installed sp1 then sp 2 then reinstalled all my software etc and it seems to be the best way to get it around it (it,s a pain but my system was i need of a spring clean anyway) if you cant do that or aint got the time you could try and go to your device manager and unistall your drives then turn off and on again to see if windows picks them up that way then it should hopfuly find the drivers for you or you could go to the manufacturers web site to get them manually (try windows first)
if you need any more help let me know cheers bandit |
Unfortunately for Jamie, he/she does not know how to format the system! May have to visit a shop and pay the technician to do it for you! :(
Unless someone here cares to take the time to type it out for them! Well formatting is the easy part, installing everything (drivers etc) is the painful part! Not hard just painful!! :( |
@ Jamie Sommers
I have sent you 2 Personal Messages! Check them and see what you think! I may be able to help you! ;) |
