going crazy... need help
 

i am very new to this but i have been trying for like a week straight just to get the utopia boot disc working. I have followed many different directions using discjuggler and alcohol 120% but the best i can do is getting the dreamcast screen at the start then it seems to try to load the game but does nothing. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. liquidfreeze

Are you using a DvD burner or a plain cd-writer? DVD-Burners are usually incapable of burning bootable DAO dreamcast cd's.

a regular cd burner. on the lowest speed. i tried burning a game too but the same thing happened i was using alcohol 120%. every other thing i try has the cd read as an audio cd in my dc

Have you changed the burning option to RAW DAO mode in alcohol 120%?

Was your dreamcast made after october 2001? Dreamcasts made after that date will not play backups.

no it was made in august 99

That's not true. All USA and European Dreamcast's play back-ups. Some models can only read a disc in data/data format.
