i was wandering if it can be done directly.nero recode can do it but only in dvd-r9.the movie is 5.5Gb.don't want to encode it cause it'll take 5 hours.

I dont mess with Nero too much as most of their crap is outdated within a week and I hate having to keep up with them.

But I would think that if you can get Nero to make DVD folders (even if they are DVD 9) You could always get something like CloneDVD2 to shrink it enought to fit.

Theres some software called DIKO that will do avi2dvd with ease. I assume thats the kind of thing you are looking for?

Google for links and guides on how to use that software.
