Advice Please
 

Hey all,

Rite a friend of mine wants me to chip his xbox, and install a bigger hard drive. I want to know what chip you advise me to get for him, he wont be playin his xbox online, but then again he mite change his mind, so I need it to have a disable function.

Also he wants a bigger hdd I sed he sud get a 120gb maxtor drive, but sud he get the 8mb cache one?

Anything else I sud know/tell you. I think its a v1.5 I did check a while ago, but i've forgot :( lol

Well I got an Xecuter 2.3b lite. I think they have lowered their prices recently due to the new chips out. Check into them. Unless you got a v1.6 that is.

and an 8mb cache will make no difference over a 2mb cache in an xbox. Loading times will not be so much butter to know a difference.

Same with a 5400 vs 7200rpm drive. The speed will not be noticed.

So i mite as well get a 120gb, with like 5400rpm. As cheap as i can get it :p lol

the xenium ice is a nice no soilder chip it also has a start up screen that lets you select if you want to use the chip or not and it also has a great built in featur to copy and partition a new hard drive for you all you have to do is hook it up and it partitions and copies the files over from the old hard drive great feature used it several times already!

Jon if u want a cheap mod that has simple disable feature get Duo-x or if u want a top range and all like getta x3 or smart xx. Hdd there all cool aslong as they can be locked and unlocked ie maxtor ones :)

I dont mind soldiering... But I want something where I can copy games to hdd, also use ftp. And disable the chip..

I will be keeping the 8gb, and telling my friend to do so, just incase.

Also, Unlock the 8gb drive before switching out the drive.
