HDLoader Game Saves
OK, I don't know if this has been covered already in old threads, but I couldn't find anything on it:
I currently have HDLoader with a Maxtor 160gb HD installed on a V7 PS2 with Magic V modchip installed. When playing Burnout 3 from the HD (mode 3 enabled) the game works fine 90% of the time, but occasionally when I save to memory card (I have standard Sony 8mb card) it freezes. I can't even reset the PS2 with the reset button, but instead have to turn it off and on using the power switch in the back. This never happens when I use the original Burnout 3 game disc. Anyone else ever have similar problems like this, whether using HDLoader, backups, originals, or any other games? |
i have not tested this but a guy i know who i did his ps2 he said that he tried it with all modes selected (mode1,2 and 3 enabled) and he hasn't had any probs.. give it a try!
|
I tried it with all three modes enabled and it STILL froze during the game save. Other times when it's saving it doesn't recognize the memory card right away and asks me if I want to save again.

no problems installing at all. very weird, damn, i love this game and would like playing it straight off the HD!
|
hmm.... maybe its because off the hdd, or your burnout disc is damaged? or is it a copy

You should extract the nfsu2 demo files from bo3 disk and put them on hdd seperately.
first copy the NFSUNDER folder from game disk to desktop, open notepad and type these lines: BOOT2 = cdrom0:\NFSUNDER.ELF;1 VER = 1.00 VMODE = PAL save it as SYSTEM.CNF, now you should make image from the files with cdgenps2 or nero or other programs. the final layout of files in the image is like this: SYSTEM.CNF NFSUNDER.ELF (you should move this file from NFSUNDER folder to root of disk) NFSUNDER\ (this is a folder) transfer the image with winhiip to hdd (don't forget to enter NFSUNDER.ELF as boot file in winhiip) or burn the image on cd and dump it into hdd with ps2, no compatibility mode needed to run the demo. |
