DVD Detection Faliure
 

Hello friends,

I have bought a new Sony DVD writer recently.Everytime i start my computer it fails to get detected the first time. but later when i restart my computer it gets detected. Earlier when i had a Cd writer i did not have any problems like this. Can anybody tell what shall be the problem, and what i can i do to fix it because it keeps on irritating me. Thanking all of u in advance for the help.

How have you got the Sony drive connected?

If as a master set it to slave/secondary.

The Sony drive for some reason is a bit fussy about how it's connected.

Also a simple rule of thumb is Burners-master Readers-slave if 2 burners like my setup, DVD-master and DVD/CDRW combo-slave. Hopefully your problem is just a jumper setting.
