I cant remember who I heard this from but it woundnt work due to something about the drive internals being exclusively made for xbox but the source isnt all that reliable so give it a try and see if it works for ya. I havent tried it myself but I do have an extra drive as well so if you want, i could try it for you and post the results. You can probably do the same so its up to you. I do have a spare pc as well. I think it will need a driver so I dont know if one will be available for this purpose. Maybe windows will autodetect it.

At this point, I am gonna keep the xbox drive for the moment cause I am in the process of trying to get the whole xbox fixed. As for the spare pc, it is kinda old and I doubt you would want to buy it cause it is an amd k6-2 550mhz or something like that with only 128mg pc100 mem. It is almost an antique. :p... If you are seriously interested in the pc, you can pm me.
The xbox was working at one point and then started the red and green flashing light routine. I ended up buying a new one and kept the old one until i can figure out if it can be fixed or not.

If you wanted a pc, here is a site you can check out. I'm sure once you see this, you probably wont want this oldie! ;)

Edit: @ frito
Never mind, I think your question was directed toward noname440.
