I bought a v7 ps2 for parts on ebay. I have never opened up a ps2 ever and have no electrical training. On first look, deck would power up but fan was not going. I vacuumed the vents then I opened up deck cleaned out all the dust. Lots of dust around the fan wheel. Fan would then spin easily so I put back together (no extra pieces and all in same place thank goodness) I plugged in and it fired right up. Fan works and laser reads games no problem. WOW! So far works better than my v9 which was smoking last time I turned it on.

I have two v7s :) how much u pay for it?

My V7 laser broke after 1 year....I now have a V9

yep v7s rock, mine is still going strong, as good as new

have replaced the fan with a silent one from a v9 though :p
