Need help picking out mod-chip
 

I have a version 4 ps2 and want to mod it. Right now I am leaning towards the Matrix Infinity, but am still undecided about which one is the best one. Any suggestions?

well im gettin the matrix infinity cuz i want to load stuff off of my memorie card and its flash upgradable, if you want the extra features like MC loading then go with matrix infinity if you just want to play back ups go with something like duo2

My only concern is that m laser will die and I won't be able to use my ps2 again. If that happens, is it possible to replace the laser?

yes, but it sud not happen that fast, my mate has a v4 ps2 and got his chipped like straight away and his still works.

Providing it is reading DVDs OK, then it should be fine. To check the condition of your laser and see if it's worth modding, do the test at Spedmetals home page at www.norcalmods.com

I'm going with the Duo chip because it boots everything well and the price is right... $20 shipped. The Duo 2 is $25 shipped and for me right now that is a plus! :)

Yep, Duo is a excellent chip thats hard to beat for the cash ;)
