Getting Doom3 to work... ?
Hey, I'm kinda new to this backing up game copies thing, and I figured it would be a good idea to do since I always lose the cd's. I wanted to back up my copy of Doom 3, so I got my hands on the 3 .bin files, used ISObuster to extract them all into the appropriate directory... G:\doom 3\ then ran setup.exe - everything installed fine.
When I tried to launch the original doom3.exe it asks for disc 1, being that its a copy I'm making I was kind of hoping it could run off the hard drive, so I was able to locate the no-cd fix and extracted it into g:\doom 3. I ran the fix and got a blue box instead that says this: 1737 MHz AMD CPU with MMX & 3DNow! & SSE 512 MB System Memory 64 MB Video Memory Winsock Initialized Hostname: AMD IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx doom using MMX & SSE for SIMD processing enabled Flush-To-Zero mode ------ Initializing File System ------ Current search path: G:\Doom 3/base G:\Doom 3\base\pak004.pk4 (5137 files) G:\Doom 3\base\pak003.pk4 (4676 files) G:\Doom 3\base\pak002.pk4 (6120 files) G:\Doom 3\base\pak001.pk4 (8972 files) G:\Doom 3\base\pak000.pk4 (2698 files) G:\Doom 3\base\game00.pk4 (2 files) game DLL: 0x0 in pak: 0x0 file system initialized. -------------------------------------- ----- Initializing Decls ----- ------------------------------ ------- Initializing renderSystem -------- using ARB renderSystem renderSystem initialized. -------------------------------------- 4966 strings read from strings/english.lang ******************** ERROR: LoadTGA( textures/bigchars.tga ): Only type 2 (RGB), 3 (gray), and 10 (RGB) TGA images supported ******************** idRenderSystem::Shutdown() Shutting down OpenGL subsystem ...shutting down QGL LoadTGA( textures/bigchars.tga ): Only type 2 (RGB), 3 (gray), and 10 (RGB) TGA images supported Shutting down OpenGL subsystem ...shutting down QGL Anyone know what this means or how to fix it? Is it a video card error? I'm using the latest drivers for my Ti4200. If not, how would I go about simply putting those 3 .bin files onto 3 CD's so that those 3 cd's would essentially be direct copies of the 3 that came in the box? Ok thanks. |
The game will work fine when you buy it.
