clicking again
 

Do you know i got like my 5th Ps2 and now after i turn on the ps2 and then hit reset you hear the 2 clicks. When you open the tray then shut it i hear 1 click.No disc is in the machine. What the hell...!!!! I'm not going to take this one back until i start having reading problems or something but man what the hell is going on!!!!???

sounds like its just the lens moveing up to try and find the disc then back down after there is no disc found

Similar problem here but more of a “purr” than a click. I Have a V4 here that purrs twice when you hit reset to power on and then loads and Purrs again when you hold reset to power down to standby. If I remember correctly the power doesn’t even turn blue until it purrs twice.

I know what’s physically causing the noise, it’s the worm gear resetting the laser to the hub but I don’t know why the sensor doesn’t seem to recognize the laser sled. It lasts for about half a second each time.

Replacing the laser does not fix problem, it’s either a ribbon or an IC on the Mobo. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

i"ve got the extended warranty from EB games so i'll just see what happens.

I thought they only sold refurbished ones. Do they even carry new models?

yeah they sell new ones and used ones also

not sure model v9 or 10. it's new but the way $ony makes them it's not much better than a used one.
