Age of empires: Conquerors No-cd help
 

I have tried just about everything to get this to work but can someone give me any specific steps on doing this?

usually there is a "how to" text file accompanied with the fixed exe file however its been a long time since I have actually used one. If you dont see the text file explaining the how to part, maybe one of the other members can assist you further.

I just did this and it works for me so here's some steps:

1.Download the english patch from gamefix.
2.Download WinRar from download.com
3.Be sure that you have the full instalation of either game
4.For conquerors, go to age2_x1 file or something like that.
5.delete the original .exe file (if you don't know where this is, try everything, it should be the one with the icon of the game that will bring up a menu that you get whenever you put in the game.)
6.With winrar, use the wizard provided, and unpack the new .exe in the same place.
Now you can click on your desktop to play the game.
