CD-R games on DVD/ multi-CD games on DVD?
Is there a way to burn a CD-R game (PS2 and PSX) onto a DVD? Also, could you burn a game that uses multiple CDs onto a single DVD?
For example: Tales of Destiny 2 (PS1) is 3 discs, and could easily fit onto a DVD. Could I put all 3 discs onto a single DVD and have it work properly? |
no in my view this isnt possiable. you cannot have ps2 games and psx games on 1 disk because of settings between ps2 and psx people with more knoledge on this can inform you but the answer is no.
Xbox can have multiple games one cd |
There are ways now to burn PS2 CD based games onto DVD based media
I dont think it is possible to burn the 3-disc PS1 game onto DVD media at the moment |

There *are* ways to put multiple games onto a DVD. The tutorial I read, however, said that the success rate using PSX games is rather low, and I was just wondering if I could put multiple discs for the same game on the DVD, and when the game prompts me for a disc change, it would allow me to switch to the other disk.
http://www.home.zonnet.nl/joeriroels..._DVD_-JRLS.htm This is a guide which explains how you can put multiple games on a single DVD... it just doesn't say whether or not multi-cd PSX games are working. UPDATE: It also does not mention putting PSX games onto DVD at all... logically speaking, shouldn't this work the same way as a CD-based PS2 game? |
Some PSX games can be compiled on a multi CDR, I’ve done this myself a few times. Putting multi PSX games on a DVD would require a PS2 running in PS2 mode, running a PSX emulator. Nobody has ever attempted a PSX emulator for PS2, because they have PSX mode built in plus PS2 barely has enough power to emulate a SNES let alone PSX. You can put multiple PSX bins on a DVD and run them on the Xbox but even that emulator is slow, for now. I know the Xbox can do much better than current emulation.
I think CD based PS2 games can be converted to DVD but for some insane reason the only bloody program that compiles a PS2 DVD is Sony’s Generator suckware. For multiboot, I found a boot menu once for PS2 but it didn’t work at all. I don’t know if anything has been released yet that works. I’m sure Paradox could whip up some kind of boot menu overnight if they wanted too. I never tried the CDloader and why is it PS2 Version specific? I was just looking through that tutorial, when He got to the LBA ordering I had to laugh out loud. You can not Drag files from 3 different games and maintain any LBA order at all, it just doesn’t work like that. Don’t bother with LBA order, if the game has LBA checks it simply will not work no matter how hard you try to order the files! The first thing he did was import the boot menu files so there goes the order for even the first game, LOL! |
Damn...I really, really hate the noises that the PS2 makes when playing CDR games; they make me worry for my laser. Is it supposed to be that loud? Originals do it too, only a hair quieter. This must just kill the laser.
