xbox ftp client

Hey Guys, does anybody know if you can connect two xboxes together using xbox ftp client v.0.62 and either a cross over or straight through cable and not using a router or hub? I tried this tonight and couldn't get my two boxes to connect. I used a cross over and a straight through and neither worked. Don't know if I need a hub or if I'm doing something wrong.

try a search on the xbox forum for ftp or networking. I remember a post a long time ago that I read about this but I never replied to it so its not in my archieves now. If it doesnt come up, you can check with www.xbox.com and see if the have some tutorial info on this. ;)

and I don't think MS will support any homebrewn apps on how to send files from one chipped xbox to another, or allow talk about it.

:p Very true! Yeah I realize that. I was hoping noone would consider mentioning anything about homebrews or chips there. :D I was just thinking maybe they might shed some light on the basics of xbox networking and maybe a brief explanation on how to go about it but you and ax covered it for him so hes in good hands now . ;)
