Starforce 3 and Soldiers - Heroes of World War II
I have read on here over the last few weeks about Soldiers - Heroes of World War II and the fact that no one can get a back up copy of their original CD to work because of Starforce 3. I downloaded the Demo and I bought the game when It came out. The question I have Is can you not use the Demo to learn how to get the full version to run without the CD?? The Demo does not ask for a CD or a CD Key and I know Demos never ask for this. Why can't you change the Demo exe and soliders.dll file to work with the full version?? I know both files were changed In the full version so why can't It be changed again?
I am new at this and I don't know how to do It but I just want to know If maybe It Is possible since so many people are trying to get a No CD for this game?? |
You can do that, you just end up with the demo though.

Thank you for the reply but I was not talking about switching the files, I was taking about opening and finding In the Demo exe or the soldiers.dll file how to turn off the CD check and CD Key check In the Full Verison exe or soldiers.dll file which ever file controls that..

Soldiers - Heroes of World War II @ Starforce 3 Hidden Devices
I was looking around on codemasters fourm and I found this-
Soldiers using Starforce Copy protection - hidden device drivers I looked around here and It has not been talked about that I could find.. So Here's what I Found: * Starforce is an extremely aggressive method of copy protection that actually works at the hardware level of your PC. * It installs device drivers WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE or CONSENT. * these device drivers are HIDDEN from normal view. They can be displayed by opening Device Manager, and clicking on "View" and then on "Show Hidden Devices" * Even DEMOS install Starforce! as if there could be ANY possible reason for copy protecting a DEMO. * Removal of the full game or demo that installed the drivers DOES NOT REMOVE THE STARFORCE DEVICE DRIVERS. * important: manual removal of the device drivers can result in severe system problems. Some users have reported having to fully format and reinstall their OS, others have reported that their CD drives no longer read certain CD's after removal. DO NOT ATTEMPT MANUAL REMOVAL.. Good luck, I think you have some deep reverse-engineering coming up

still i think it should be illegal for companies to install things in ur hdd without notice or consent, i bet they wouldnt like people installing stuff in their mainframes would they!
|
Whatever..as soon as you choose to accept the EULA, they are more or less free to install all the shít they want....Starforce does it, so does Safeshít and Sexxxurom...put a logger on next time you install and you'll see a lot of "illegal" stuff invading your drive ;)
