backup of securom 5.02.02 DVD.. how?
 

hey,
i want to make a working backup of a DVD with a SecuRom 5.02.02 protection. allready tried it with alcohol 120% 1.9.2 but i cant define how to make an image of a dvd.
clonecd doesnt accept a dvd, and nero... you know, senseless.. :rolleyes:

you just press next...dvd profile automatic choosed and click start.doesn't matter what the protection is

would be the first time that it doesnt matter what protection a dvd has.. anyway, the image doesnt work at all...
alc120 can create the image without any problems, but if i want to run the image via d-tools and i.e. i try to reinstall the game, i always get the error message, that the cd is bad...

btw, how should alc120 know that the dvd is securom protected? it cant choose the best option if it doesnt know whats up.

i made lots of protected dvd images and played fine.what's the error?i did ground control.protection doesn't matter on dvd.you can't put securom 4/5 profile if you have a dvd

allright, thats my situation.
i bought an international version of Unreal Tournament 2004 1 month ago on holidays in austria (that stuff is really cheap there..). as soon as i was at home i wanted to play the game but while i was flying back to NY my suitcase somehow got damaged and now the cd has a small scratch. not very deep, but deep enough to cause problems. i wasnt able to install the game yet. i allready had such a problem with chrome some time ago and after i made a backup of the scratched cd, it worked fine...
as i allready said, ut2004 is DVD, and everytime a make an image with alc120 and want to install the game, the installation stops at about 50%. the error message says, that my version of ut2004 may be bad and i should try to clean the cd. the installer wasnt able to read a file from the image and then i get this message....
starts jumping on my nerves...
