DUO2 chip installation problems

Hi, I just finished installing a DUO2 modchip onn a v10, and everything seemed to have worked fine; however, no backups will work, it just keeps going to the "error reading disc" screen, but all of my originals work fine and the PS2 behaves exactly as it did without the modchip. I checked all the points with a magnifying glass before putting it together, and they seemed to be fine, any ideas what is going on? Also, I ordered the chip from modzone.com and it came in an envelope with almost not packaging whatsoever, could the chip have been damaged in transit? Thanks for your help guys.

Have you used 18AWG for the Power and GND connections? I was clumsy and did that, but when changed, it worked perfectly...

well if it came in a static bag it should be fine.

Check the via's on the back of the board.

depending on the wire used you may have a dry socket as well. A dry socket is a wire that is attached to the board but isnt making enough contact for signal flow.

Ive heard the term called cold solder joint or cold connection, for this same description. Interesting what other people call it.:)
