Help with Cycling Manager 4
Hello game-fanatics,
I've recently bought Cycling Manager 4 and now I wanted to play it via LAN on my 2 pcs with a friend of mine. The only problem is that if I make a copy of the game I cant play with it (I know, StarForce 3.0 protection). But it also sais that I can enter a product key of the game. Only problem is that I can't find a product key anywhere. I find this kind of strange coz if someone wants to play the game via LAN he/she has to buy it twice!?!? Like someone is gonna spend €90 in total for 1 game  Can someone perhaps tell me where I can find this key the copy protection is asking? Thanks in advance, Bozza |
wether u like it or not thats illegal so read THE RULES NO SERIALZ.

I think there's some misunderstanding here. The way I understand it, SF3 games have a produkt key AND a cd key. One is written as data on batches of cds (I think) and the other is (optionally?) used for multiplayer and has to be entered. Only the multiplayer key would have to be entered and many games don't offer multiplayer, does CM4 ? If CM4 does not allow internet multiplayer, you don't need any key. Unfortunately I haven't ever used a SF3 game so I'm sure someone will be correcting my errors soon :D

But isnt it redicilious that otherwise I've to buy the game twice to play it over LAN in my own house? Like the games ain't expensive enough yet. |
There is no product key!!! Starforce asks for it when it cannot detect an original CD!!!
|
I have the same problem, you can't copy the game and I would like to play it on my other pc also. Stupid starforce!! can anyone crack starforce?
|
there IS a disc key... call it what you want! it's normally on the disc, but they managed somehow only to do it on almost every cd, but few got a cd without! so some cd's have a "disc key" you can enter!
|
lol, where is that key located exactly and what have the ones who dont have the key to do?
|
Bozza, if it's asking for a key when you're using the original and not trying to play on a LAN with copies, then the protection is broken and you've got to contact the publisher or return the game to the shop. It's Starforce 3 so there's very little else you can do (at this time).

So you are saying that it's impossible to play this game online via LAN?
|
You can only play it online via gamecenter.
If you want to play it via LAN start the game one by one and switch the disc from one PC to the other. It only checks for the CD if you start the game. |
Jup i know, also discovered that.. but i also discovered that its impossible to play it online with 2 pcs who are connected via lan en internet sharing... am i glad i haven't bought the game twice ;)

Installing the game on 2 computers is sorta like the 2 week rule. While not specifically spelled out, both are against forum policies.
Installing a game on a second machine in your house is considered piracy. Harass your the developers to bring back 'client' copies like AOE and Warcraft II had. It was cool to have 3 people play with only 1 persons purchase. It was a way for people to 'demo' the game for a friend as the client copies wouldnt run without a master running on the network. |
