scratched games

I have a couple games scratched by my xbox. Can anyone give me advice on what I can do myself with spending alot of money on a disk system.

Sure, if you have an electric car buffer, put a very small dab of car polish on it and buff it out. It will restore the disk to original shiny surface. This even works on some of the deeper scratches. Just be careful not to let it slip out of your hands and go flyin' lol. This method works great..... ;)

I've actually used toothpast on a music cd that kept skipping in my sterio, and it worked. They were not really deep scratches though, just enouph to skip in one player, but not another.

One of my boys got mad at his brother and took one of his favorite games (GTA vice city) and scratched it up so bad it looked like he used something metal. Well needless to say it didnt work anymore. I left it be for a very long time to teach them a lesson. One day my son asked me to fix it and Wahla it was like new again. They never did it again and still works perfectly... Test it if you like, take a burned disk and scratch it up (dont get too carried away as my boys were only 6 & 7 back then), then buff it til all of the scraches are gone. You will be amazed how well it works... Even TD will tell you that car polish works on mildly scratched games. You can even use Quall999's method with toothpaste on the buffer and it will work. Anyway, I thought it was pretty sweet as opposed to buying a disk doctor. BTW they are expensive and dont work as well as the buffer. Happy gaming and let us know how you make out. ;)

i have used turtle wax on my games and it seems to work really well on the scratches and even against dirt and oil form finger tips the discs usually wipe clean with one wipe

I’ve had amazing results with Old Dutch Cleansing powder (similar to Comet) with a wet paper towel. Way easier and faster them my old $15 repair kit. I’ve used it on a couple Xbox games so far, I can’t get over how good it works!!
