Avalaunch or Evox
 

What is the difference between avalaunch and evox and which is better? I'm running evox and just want to know if it's worthwhile changing to avalaunch and what benefits that would bring.

avalaunch has more than double the ftp speed of evox and is more of a replacement dashboard, as-in, it is designed to look good with animated menus/skins. Evox is a basic ftp/game applications. It was the first one ever made for xbox. Most people use it as an installer for other apps now.

must be the slow ftp speeds compared to avalaunches 9-11mb/s :p

You know, Ive got Evox installed as my main dashboard but I also have MXM as an app for when I need to transfer my games via FTP. To tell you the truth ever since Ive done that Ive noticed that when I forget to load MXM my Evox transfers at about 8-9mb. Before it used to be something like 2 1/2.

I'm with you AX. I installed avalaunch on my other hard drive and wasn't really impressed. Might have to give it some time but first impressions weren't all that great.

Why don't you guys rip from your hard drive not your dvd drive? I do this and get speeds around 10 -11.

I personally don't like how avalaunch looks either. I only use it for ftp.

i use evox as my main dash becuase it's so stable :)
i run avaluaunch as a app for using with quix and get around 10 - 11 too

UnleashX is not bad dash to consider, yet i still agree, Avalaunch Ftp speeds are fantastic compared to evox, etc, yet i've noticed a lot of improvements with Unleash's ftp speeds. The new version is a lot more stable now and there are a lot of improvements overall

Most of the new dashboards use avalaunch's "enhanced" ftp code to get better speeds. So, they probably will be about the same speed.
