Computer Procersors..
i have a fairly new P4, 2.0 gh proccesor wit 512 ddr ram.. i was woundering when this gets outdated.. if i can just put in a bigger processor and it will be jsut like a new pc? or what else i would need to make it good!
|
well a 2gh aint exactly "up to date" but still, and it all depends of wats the max processor ur motherboard supports, ull prob find that in the manual.

Check out www.pricewatch.com
They have good deals on computer stuff there. For the price of a processor, you may be able to get a whole computer there. They have just about anything you need. Other sources for computer stuff are directron.com & aaronix.com. These are the 3 sites I usually buy from. They are all trustworthy. |
well to add to this thread im just building myself a new pc :D
its a amd athlon xp 3200+ asus a7v600-x kingston 512 ddr 400 120 gb maxtor lg dvd rom 106 dvd writer fx5200 gc one mighty powerful pc i must admit! |
Hey Seanyb, I recommend a Soyo Dragon Pro motherboard for you. :D
Check out the specs on it vs the Asus board before you actually buy it. They have very good reviews. You may even want to put the extra in and step the processor up to the AMD 64 chip. ;) Thats the one I am building next. Its gonna be one sweet system. :D |
already got it tho the mainboard was only released in april. I need it for college for some super cad desigin and pcb building software which needs a powerful pc. And all my gaming need 2 :)
|
the only thing im looking for is the heatsink
|
if ur still looking for good heatsinks for ur amd processor u can look here :

You will have to check the manual or find out your motherboards FSB speed.
