FXP Connection Help
This may be long winded but I need help bad and I want to cover all my steps so if you see I did something wrong you can hellp me.
I bought a X-Bit chip and put it in with no problems. I ran the X-Bit flash program on # 4 of the 6 and wrote to the #4, Bios 4 256K, using the Xecuter2.4981 Bios. I only wrote to the one, was not sure if I needed to do it to all in the #4 slot. After turning my box back on using the Xecuter2 it showed it on my XBox start-up screen, So I guess that it working fine, ( I think ). I'm running windows xp and trying to connect my computer and Xbox using a crossover cable. The cable goes from my PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter card in my PC to my Xbox. Computer IP = 192.168.1.4 Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway = 192.198.0.1 Xbox IP = 192.168.0.2 Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway = 192.198.0.1 I keep reading about setting your xbox to a static IP in order for it to work but not sure where to find it on my box, been all over. I go to use FXP, I hit quick connect at the top. for server or Url I put the IP address for my Xbox. Name and password I use xbox. ( not even sure if that is the right name and password ) I hit connect and it tells me connection failed. What am I doing wrong? |
