I'm having trouble running BF1942 1.6 w/ NO CD. HELP

I installed Battlefield 1942. I then updated to the latest version which is 1.6. I downloaded "BF1942 v1.6.19 [ENGLISH] No-CD/Server Fixed EXE" and installed it. I was able to overwrite the 4 files sucessfully.

I can start up BF1942 smoothly, but when I try to join a game I get the message "Data differs from server" and the loading quits.

Could someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance
Mike

I've been searching and I cannot find any REAL solutions.

Here are the files in my EA games BF1942 folder:

I had the same problem, just a couple of weeks ago. I fixed it by re-downloading the 1.6 patch and installing it and now it works fine. Give that a shot.

Also make sure you download the entire 1.6 patch not the 1.5 to 1.6 patch. I did that once too.

When I originally upgraded to v1.6 I had to uninstall and re-install from scratch, then installed SWoWW2, then upgraded to v1.5, then upgraded to v1.6.

I don't use No-CD cracks for BF games, I use disc emulation to avoid the 'data differs' errors, but I couldn't play v1.6 at all until I did the above.

Try downloading the 1.6 full retail patch and install it over what you have. It updates from the 1.0 to 1.6.

Thanks a lot guys! Keep the advice coming.

Does the 1.6.19 patch that is 267 MB update from 1.0 to 1.6?

Yep thats the one AKA the retail patch
