xbox ideas!

yo,

i just had an idea! i was thinking of doing my own xbox case modding yea.
Im not sure if el wire is bright enough for the casing. What i wanted 2 do is cut the metal shield round the side. Will this do any damage? and i wanted to do a joyport led mod but i dont have the equipment to do it. I was also thinking would the heat of the psu melt the el wire or can it withstand its heat

Thanks in advance
Seaneyb

well for the metal one.. if its near somethin like the hdd or mobo...
so leave that as anythin inside.. its not a good idea
cuz metal is a conductor
and if u put that there, itll heat whatevers near it up, faster/

I think he means your sig, but we allow sig adds there most of the time (no porn or anything) ;).

As for EL wires, I have never used one. But, cutting the shielding shouldn't do much. I completely removed the one on the lid, and poked holes in the back to add a cathode and mod switch. It is meant to shield electronic interference, but I don't know anyone who had a fuzzy tv picture when the xbox had lost the lid.

I don't think they should melt. I put hot glue right above the power jack inside the xbox to hold a switch in place, and that hasn't even started to melt yet.
