Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow (PROBLEMS)

Hi guys, I am having troubles with this game!!! The original boots, but when I go to Start Single Player........ the screen goes black! and stays there!!!

Whats wrong with this.

I have a V7 Pal Ps2 with a Messiah 2 Modchip!!!!
Is this game protected to detect modchips?
Thanx

Ok,

are you saying its the origonal or a backed up version.

It sounds like the laser give it a quick clean and it will be fine

Renegade_Playa 19-06-2004 09:21

the problem is that the v7 double checks the TOC on the DVD...if the modchip is turned on it will give you a RSOD...if it's an original, then the chip needs to be in disabled mode to play..

If it's a backup...then you gotta make sure that the Messiah 2 is able to get past the v7 checks...

if your chip is the M2 Pro...then it should be all good! just clean the laser..

I've got the same problem...i've got a v7 with a Magic 3.1 - means i'm taking out the Magic chip and installing a new chip....I don't to experience this again

I got a funny feeling that new games are going to be like this for old chips like my Magic 3.1

I am playing with the original!!!.
And yes, I had to turn the chip off to play it, with the chip off, works fine!
With the chip on, I managed to get past the start, and the loading of a save game, but when it loads another stage, RSOD!!!! BOOM!!!

Really I am actually wondering if the guy put a M2 on my PS2!!!
Isn't there any patches available to correct this problem?!?!?!

thanx for the answers guys!

this seems very odd to me. Do you know how to safely dismatle a ps2? i would check for dust around the ps2 board and modchip and laser. it may be shorting out.

r00tcracker 19-06-2004 11:05

nope seaneyb2003, I have NO IDEA how to safely desmantle a PS2!

The thing I didn't mention before is that when I got past the start of the game, (when you choose single player or multi player), and the load of a savegame. I did it with the Eject Trick. That is Ejecting and then put it back in after a second.!!!!!

And i don't think its dust seaneyb2003, all my other games work perfect.
thanx again!

i havent a idea whats wrong i would check the m2 could be playing up.

If it works fine disabled why dont u just leave it. when i want to play some games on my ps2 origonals with the duo booted it sometimes goes to the rsod. What i do is simply press the reset button. then it works

I have a Messiah 2 and it plays ALL 2x TOC games perfectly. May be a dodgy chip or a dirty laser...

Thanks for the answers guys, I am gonna check with the guy and see what did he put in!!!!.

And yes, I think I will have to use my original

Thanks again

seaneyb2003 22-06-2004 04:32

lufcfan 22-06-2004 09:44

My V7 with Messiah 2 PRO works perfectly well with Splinter Cell... Booting and playing...

seaneyb2003 22-06-2004 09:50

maybe it depends what m2 version they have? did u ever think of that. Maybe its a lil buggy. Also lufc what splinter cell was it?

lufcfan 22-06-2004 10:06

Splinter Cell 1 - using a Messiah 2 1.33b Pro... Never thought it was Pandora Tomorrow. I'll borrow my mates disc 2morrow and test it. He has a Magic V...

seaneyb2003 22-06-2004 10:07

ahhh gotcha ;) lol. Yea i think it might be the m2 with some slight issues.
