Soldner Secret War 28446 discuss

As it is a lot of old topic talking about Soldner, mixed info and request for new patch release and first release of Soldner, I open this thread.

Discuss only about the patched 28446 Soldner version.

Thanks

The main things are :
This game is the first to use Sony DADC's new version of SecuRom.
All image are unmounted (daemon-tools, Nero, Alcohol, ... ) at game start.
If you lock the dll or exe (as u can do with daemon-tools), it return a conflit with Disc Emulator Software detected.
The old crack work, but you can't play online, as the version is unreconized.
AR.exe is Petite compressed.
After Petite unpacking the AR.exe file, SecuROM version 5.03.04.0018 Detected

AR.EXE is the file to crack, but maybe SoeldnerSecretWars.exe must be also as it now check the AR.EXE file data.

the patch enables the newest Securom protection. Soldner is the first game to use it, i think. it's been what... a week since release and there's still no crack. i don't think there will be one... the game is only like 30 bucks though...

I personnaly think that it is a good things because new protection is a great challenge for Team member to crack it !!!

;)

Well. There will be a lot more patches needed to get rid of all bugs.
:D

So don't hope for a crack for this version.

You are completely in right.
Lot of bug and improvment still needed on this game.

But as you can see, Jowood don't often distribute patch on this game as they have a lot of things to do !! lol :)

Unpack + version checker

After unpacking the AR.exe file, SecuRom Detected - Version 5.03.04.0018

sigh, its normal securom, latest version, ar.exe = jowoods protection code, its the evil one disabling alcohol etc, not securom and its 5.03.04, the .0018 isnt part of the version number (note the 00 terminator in the exe after the .04)

setup is follows, exe launches, creates an event, shells ar.exe, ar.exe then does some checks, some evil stuff and if the checks passes it resets the event, otherwise it just exits, then the main exe continues on, handling the return code from the ar.exe shell and checking the event it created

no need to pm, what i use : pencil, paper, time, disassembler, debugger, hex editor... and something tells me this is beyond your skills, as theres also most likely triggers involved
