[Oldie] Speed Busters ADDON (v1.28) no-CD patch?
 

Hi guys,

There's a download of a nice cars + tracks addon for Speed Busters at e.g. http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dlp.cgi?lang=...don.zip&ref=ps .
I know there's a no-CD patch for version 1.1 but this addon contains an even newer main executable, version 1.28. Anyone have a no-CD patch for _this_? Thanks in advance,

Joe, is there something about this newer version which is hard to crack? You usually provide cracks for older games yourself.

I tried cracking it a long ago, when I found out that this addon exists at all, so I don't remember it very much... Just like the 1.0 and 1.1 releases, 1.28 is not protected by any encryptor or something either, just some custom CD-checks. However, there are some hidden ones, too, unlike in previous versions, and pretty nasty ones at that! Kind of like in my "favorites": Moto Racer 1/2 and Motorhead... :) Actually, the game doesn't even launch itself and there's not even an error message displayed so I don't know where to start... :D

Hmmm, maybe, I should try it again and see what I can do about it. ;)

SPEEDBUSTERS! gawd i use to spend hours on that never found anyone to play online with tho, we should have a game sometime joe, also motorhead, i got a demo of it wen i bought my voodoo 2 card years ago and always wanted to buy the full game but never found it, know anywere were i could get it?

Yes, the Moto Racer games are real bitches to crack. Motorhead though is pretty standard if I remember correctly. I don't remember having any trouble with the final patch, v3.20 (?).

Are you certain that it's a CD check and not an incompatibility?

Hey E_J, try patching out the same code Motorhead 3.0 as in previous releases and then start a tournament. The first torunament will be fine, the first race of the second tournament will also be fine. However, in the further three races of the second tournament, you will only get one point, no matter how well you performed. As a result, you will lose the second tournament, even if you won all races, ARGH! Talk about nasty hidden checks... :D

Anyway, if noone has a patch, gotta go back to the drawing board. I'll submit the no-CD patch if I manage to make one.
