jak 2

I am trying to back up my copy of Jak 2. I have used recordnow max and dvd decrypter, but whenever it gets to about 60% it craps out. I am running XP and have a pioneer a107d external 8x +/- drive? Can anybody help me out?

Maybe the disc is scratched. If not, close all the apps in your Systray and unplug any other USB devices if it is on a Hub. If that fails, check for updates to your writer firmware. Also, be sure you have the latest versions of the programs and any patches/upgrades which have been released for them.

If you are getting read errors then the disc is dirty or scratched. I copied it with no problems using recordnow DX.

@ mfitz777
What version of RecordNow are you running???

Thanks for the help guys. I am running the latest firmware from pioneer and am using recordnow max 4.10. I guess that I will just have to purchase the newest version.

Yeah, V7 just released. Visit Sonic.com

RecordNow 4.5 was the latest demo version freely available. They made one for 6 but took it down after about an hour and never put it back. 4.5 would have done it fine, i'm sure...

I used Record Now DX to backup Jak2 and it worked direct..
as they said before.. might be a scratch or something like that..

You guys were right. Apparently, the disk looked fine, but I guess it was a small scratch or something in the way. I used another copy of it and it works great. Thanks for the help.
