Burning gamecube games on 8cm dvd disc?
 

Sony released a dvd camcorder wich uses 8cm dvd discs (1.4 Gigabyte). You can buy the discs for about 10 euro per disc.

Can I burn a gamecube game on such a disc and use it in my gamecube? Did anybody try this method?

This method does not work, as the GCN can't read +/-R(W) disks yet (no modchip) I have heard that you can use a program (can't talk about it on this forum) and it makes it so the gamecube can read the burnt dvds but, this program can only be used by Authorized Nintendo personel, and so, no, you can't use 8cm blank dvds in a GCN.

Also, people might say "My m8 used FreeLoader and it made it so the burned dvds worked" this is NOT true, it was tried as soon as people could get a hold of FreeLoader and blank 8cm media.

Problems with backing up
 

When i rip from any version of Cube soft phoenix it hangs at 100% packet loss & wont close the session.

When i used GameCubeServer 1.0.0.29 - will backup the image but out of 11 different backups, only one worked. The rest will get a black screen once loaded through pso.

On my pc when i try load gamecube server, it will load onto the red screen & ask to switch game. Then it hangs at streaming, when i use my laptop it will read the disc.

Anyone know why when i open the backup through my loader - it will show the game descprtion but once loaded comes up as a black screen - using
Cube soft Phoenix 2.3 as loader.

hmm it could be cuz the game is non-bootable with the current loaders?
