Interesting version of Securom 5.03.03.0013?

Well I've have bought Transportgiant today. Pid and A-Ray say Securom *new* Securom 5.03.03.0013. So I read with Alcohol. Mounted the image and installed from there. Did fine.

Now the suprising:
But when I want to play from virtual drive, the game removes itself from virtual drive and even removes the rpms emulation from the setting. And not only in Alcohol even in Daemon too.

yep cos it has anti daemon and anti alcohol code in it, been there since 5.02 at least, hardly interesting and not really worth making a new thread about

munsterbuster 12-06-2004 15:09

Well new was for me that it turns of the rmps emulation.

the AR.exe unmounts all virtual devices - my 4 daemon tools, my alcohol and my virtual cd images, all get unmountet at gamestart.

erm, groover is talking about Söldner with the patch installed ;)

munsterbuster 13-06-2004 12:54

Nope. The protection also does it in transportgiant.

groover 13-06-2004 13:38

Is that game also published by Jowood?

munsterbuster 14-06-2004 04:10

yep good old jowood, ar.exe and xprot (coded by their copy protection person, who also just happens to have links in the scene), paranoid at best and all their ideas seem futile, but hey he gets paid to come up with all these zany ideas to infuriate their customers, pity he makes his money from using the links he has in other teams but thats another story....

ByteMare 14-06-2004 12:24

Really? O-m-f-g :D Somehow, I really think this suits Jow00t just fine: Rotten from the inside and hated by everyone on the outside ;)
