Help, problem with backups and new ps2.
 

Hey, i just purchased a pre-modded ps2.
i dont know what the chip it has in it but the model and V is
SCPH 30002 R
V5/V6

It plays all ps2 games perfectly.
but my backups dont work, i am doing the burning and everything all right i just dont know whats going on.
Using Princo A Grade -R
i heard they are bad but i dont think so bad they wouldnt even read?
The first back up of tekken 4 worked fine, and it runs but other games soul calibre 2 doesnt, or it loads then freezes and sits there.

Also the ps2 doesnt even run DVD Movies
just wont read any movies at all.

also do +RW or +R work ?

Are you saying it doesnt play Original dvd movies or backup dvd movies? Or neither? Princo's are crap and if your laser is going out, then using them is a bad idea.

OMFG!!! How many times does this have to be said? Princo discs suck my left you know what! And like Tyler said if your laser is already having a hard time reading DVD movies then it’s going to have a harder time reading Princo DVD-R's as they have very poor reflectivity, not to mention its just going to wear out your week laser even faster now. Come on people head the warnings!!! Only use princo if you are independently wealthy and you plan on buying a new PS2 or laser every 6 months.

Yeah but if you were independantly wealthy then why would you purchase such cheap discs????

well it doesnt read original dvd movies
but all ps2 games work fine (originals)
umm, i just got some more dvds, i just figured princo would work cause they work absolutely perfect for my dvd movies :-

just tryed a new dvd, and the intro started like playstation in white, then it went black and stayed black-

use riteks wont have probs might wanna tweek ur ps2 laser as well

Sounds like your laser is juuussst starting to have problems. Not suprised with those crappy Princo's. Anyway, i'd stick to watching movies on a proper DVD player, as DVD movies can absolutely wreck a weak PS2...

Yeah, Not to mention you can buy a DVD player cheaper than you can replace the PS2 laser.

well i just bought it 2nd hand, and its ****ed, it should be able to do it and its not, i never wil watch a dvd movie on it lol **** dat :P

But, all is well, took it back and got a ps2 with out a chip and 100 extra which got 2 games and a memory card :-

Now I have to go take some pills and cry myself to sleep.

BTW, all 3000X’s are ****ED. Do some homework next time you buy something!!!! You probably can’t play DVD movies because you need to disable the chip and you didn’t realize that yet.
