Overclocking Radeon 9800
Hi everyone,I own a radeon 9800 256bit memory,8 pipelines,324 Mhz for core and 580Mhz for memory.I wold like to know how much it is safely overclockable.Thanks

ok first of all, thats one of the top of the range cards from ati rite? Why on earth do u want to cut its life spam wen u dont even need to overlock it at the mom?

It's just to experiment this wonderful thing called overclock.I know that my Gpu is one of the fastest on the market!

Now now people. If this guy insists on risking "his" system then by all means lets help him do it. Im sure he wont be upset with "us" if we give him info that leads to him messing up his pc, because he chose to do this.

link82, I wouldn't risk it. If you want a better card, get the new x800, actualy beats the 9800xt by a large margin. If you reallt want to, here is an artical on overclocking the 9800pro.
http://www.pppmail.com/9800pro/ Just keep in mind that you gfx card is very likely to burn out after a couple of months of playing over clocked, or at least overclocked enouph to see a difference. So unless you plan on buying a new one soon, or can spare the couple hundred dollars, I would not recommend doing this. |
