copy dvd game

i just bought a new dvd-r and wanted to ask how can you copy dvd's.just like cd's?use protectionid for the protection?go to alcohol put the profile and copy it?

2nd.how can i put a game from dvd like(yager, metal gear solid etc)that are above 4.7GB to a dvd?

My Original YAGER DVD isn't bigger than the free space on a DVD-R/+R.
There was enough free space to put the V5.24 Patch (~100 MByte) and the Crack + Trainer also on the DVD+R !!!

There was a thread about Metal Gear Solid 2. When i remember right, can you left one big file away. Try searching the forum...

???i thought yager is 7, something...well i don't want to backup mgs it was an example.let's take farcry dvd ok?it's protected with lets say securom ok?i copy it to dvd by the same way as the cd's?on the fly or not?

Generally, I don't recommend copying on the fly at all.

Concerning FarCry, it uses Safedisc 3.xx.xx and it's hardware dependant whether you will get a working backup or not. If have read something about reading the disc with clonecd and burning the image with alcohol should be a good choice for sd3 games, but I haven't tried yet. Anyway, FarCry fits onto a DVD-R. So you can include a fixed.exe, etc. into your backup.

iunderstood everything but you haven't answered the other question.if the game is bigger(4.7 and up)how do i write it?

Monty Burns 06-06-2004 05:06

Get a DVD9 writer, or compress the contents with WinRar. You can also rip some stuff, e.g. big movie intros, etc. But you should know, what you are doing in this case
