DC will not boot
 

I have 2 dreamcasts. The newer one will not play my backed up games or boot from my (utopia) boot CD.

Everything still works fine in the old one, but I want to sell that. Why doesn't the new one boot backups and how can I fix that?

i know that pal dc's at least up to the E-model boot backups (heard somewhere that later ones with a black bottom won't play them) and ntsc dc's before -i believe- 12 dec 2000 seem to boot fine also... later ones don't for some reason (new built-in protection or something)

Thanks for that quick reply. I'll go home and see whether my DC meets any of the criteria you mentioned.

that's for all that i know... you might check dcforums.net out... i believe there's still a thread which concerns this issue...
