Can't get msinfo number!!!

OK, I've been using cdrecord.exe to try to get the msinfo number and everytime I run it I get the blue screen. When I use this command:

cdrecord -scanbus

The blue screen shows up but I find out the information I need (three numbers 0,0,0). I'm wondering if I'm actually supposed to get 0,0,0 for output or if that's what the program gives me because it encountered an error. When I run this command:

cdrecord -dev=x,x,x -msinfo

I get the blue screen, but when I return to windows, it just returns to the prompt. I tried restarting, but it still happens!!

I'm trying to change the music in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2! PLEASE HELP!

if cdrecord is causing a blue screen of death then u need to update your aspi layer
get it here http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/sup...dkey=ASPI-4.70

OK, I got past that, but now I have two new problems. One thing is that my computer thinks I have 3 CD Drives when I only have two!

Secondly, I burned the game, but when I put it in the Dreamcast, it just restarts. The DC logo shows up, then there's the Sega logo and the "produced by or under license..." stuff, then it goes back to the DC logo again!

On further investigation, I learned it's probably just the release I'm working with. Anyway, I've decided to go a different route altogether and make my self-booting game non-selfbooting. Is there a way to do that?

i think you have installed a burning software
which gives you a "virtual" drive.
nero, alcohol or daemon tools for example.

some games needs to be patched to work on
a pal console or with a rgb cable.

let us know which game you want to run.

if you want to non-selfboot a game there
are different ways.
first, use the search funktion in this forum
and you get help. if you have still trouble,
let us know.

Hmm... You tell him to update the ASPI layer, then proceed to link to an outdated version. Nice going  ... What I would recommend is to Google for ForceASPI 1.8, as that is pretty much the only ASPI installer (especially for NT/2K/XP) anyone needs to bother with. :D
