formatting a pc
 
hey, does anyone know the commands to put in on dos when formatting windows 98 is there anyone who can walk me throught formatting an re- installing the os? thankx

whilst on dos
format c:
once done introduce a boot floppy so u can get to dos, and then insert the cd:
d:setup

follow instructions

Create a boot disk.
Then insert the disk and restart the pc
Let the flopppy disk load up and run boot my computer with cd rom support.
This will load ms dos
type in
formay c:
then y for yes.
Once its formated Insert your windows 98 cd and input D:\setup.exe
this will then check the hdd for errors then install windows 98 :)

also if you have a computer that can boot from a cd, if i remember correctly, you wont need a boot disk. I could be thinking of newer windows versions other than Windows 98. I havent re-programed one in a while using win98 however.
