Splinter Cell 2 play from HD problem

I have backed up Splinter Cell 2: Pandora Tomorrow to my xbox hard-drive and I can start it good from evolutionx lauch menu, BUT after I watch the cool starter movie and choose single player the game just hangs when loading (I waited over 30 minutes, still nothing happened). Same happens if I use dvd2xbox to launch the offline.xbe from the Splinter Cell 2 folder (it doesn't show the movie but goes straight to the loading screen and hangs).
I have tried to patch the media check using dvd2xbox but it didn't help.

I have Apple-x Pro chip and Evolutionx 1.8.375 dashboard. Bios is unknown and quite old (I have never upgraded the bios, so it's at least one year old).
Could it be that I have too old bios to run the game? Or could I just patch those xbe's and run them with my curren bios?

Thought I can play other games from HD, for example Max Payne 2 plays good.

Any help would be much appreciated.

first, make sure all 3 of the IGR (in game resets) are turned off in evox, then try. That is usually a result of it. dvd2xbox patches all defalut.xbe's, so it should be patched if need be.

All 3 IGR? Where else, aside from the settings screen on evox can an IGR toggle be found? I'm getting the same problem with KoTOR.

there are 3 igr switches in the settings of evox, turn em all off
also u needa update ur bios, i suggest 4981...
the newer bios' dont need games to be patched

I disabled all three IGRs, but no luck. Next I'm going to try patch that offline.xbe by hand as explained in Quall999 patching tutorial (I think the version of dvd2xbox I have didn't patch offline.xbe, I heard somewhere that older versions of it patches only files named default.xbe).

I guess it would be time to upgrade the bios but I don't know which bios fits to my Applex Pro chip, so I just try to roll on by patching.

P.S. monkeyshare, I had a bit trouble to find three IGRs also, but one is near Ftp settings, another is near Remote Debugging settings and last one is near Misc settings.

You should update your bios instead, if your chip is upgradeable. The bios that AXmichigan would be the prefered. You will not have to media patch games, and there is a small percentage of games that are unique. I ussually send my games to my xbox with dvd2xbox, then after, I load boXplorer and re-send the .xbe files. Some of them didn't seem to work after patching (prince of persia to be specific.)

what is in game reset and why would you want to turn it off?
