xjapan_hide 18-05-2004 22:56

xjapan_hide 19-05-2004 02:13

or how about sony dru 700a

Or how about letting us know what your main purpose for your burner shall be? Do you intend to burn movies, games, data, or something else?

That way we can better suggest a specific burner for you. But in reality basically all burners are pretty much the same.

I personally recommend Pioneer AO7 or 1O7. Both are basically the same thing, except the 1O7 is hella cheaper.

They have firmware hacks availiable that allow you to burn Ritek GO4 4x media at 8x. So basically you wind up spending less money on discs and get all the benifits of an 8x burner.

ya i search the forum , everybody said go for pioneer . but i was thinking , if i buy a burner that can burn double layer dvd is more worth it , because i don't have to buy another dvd burner in a year or two . also game are getting bigger and bigger , just like
Ralli Sport Chanlenge 2 on xbox , it won't fit on single side dvd .
any way thanks for your help and suggestion .

Nice site to help identify features included with different brands/models of DVD burners

IMHO I would choose a DVDR that allows you to change the bitsetting (headers) on DVD+R(W) disks - helps to create maximum compatibility with DVD players.

FYI Plextor doesn't support the changing of booktypes, whereas MANY other burners DO (e.g. liteon, ricoh-based burners, etc...)

pioneer pioneer pioneer, defo go for the pioneer 107, hack it as tylerdurden said and buy discs for like 30-40p and burn them in about 6/7 minutes, ubeatable, no need to pay over the top for a dual layer sony writer, Theres NO dual layer discs available yet...
