Fan Speed
 

Has anyone used XBTOOL to look at or edit their BIOS? I was wondering if anyone has looked at X2.3985(?) and noticed what the default "fan speed" is. I'm very interested in exhausting all possible cooling options before doing any serious hardware modifications.

X2 3985???

Get X2 4983 or actually 4982 so you can edit via xbtools. 4983 is encrypted so you cant edit it no matter what.

i dunno waht the deal is with the 4982
u can just bump up the fan speed yea usin xbtool
i made mine 35%
others did 50%
i wasnt sure if the heat sink fan could wear out

You bumped UP? Wow, what does micro$oft have the fans set to as it is?

Oh yeah, what if I have a 1.5? There is no fan over the GPU (or is that the CPU)? Just the one exhaust fan.

I think I would rather deal with the noise of a faster fan than have another mobo fry out on me...

What are you talking about? I don't think its encrypted, the maker of XBTool hasnt put out an uptate is all.

I could be wrong, all though thats very rare you know. :p

the 4983 is encrypted because it contains little portions of the x3 bios that will go with the new xecutor3 modchip

it increases the speed on the heat sinks too

grr i cant find out my bios i went on this thing in evox and doesnt say nothin all i can tell u is that its got a blue x logo and at the bottom it says xecuter2

its blue cuz someone modified it
goto settings in evox
down to bios
write here what the kernel says

why what does it do beter not show anything about my box like i donno NOOBIE ALERT!!!! lol i know hardly anything about the xbox still learnin took me 1 hour 40 min to get pgr2 off my box 2 my pc!
