protecting mp3 file (how to)

Anyone know how I can create mp3 file that only allow duplication (or coping) for 3 times?

I seriously doubt there is any way you could really do that.

May I ask why you would want to?

Well...me and a group of friends are song writers :p. We intend to sell some of our work online. But we also want to try to stop or minimize duplication.

Actually, one of my country ISP are offering mp3 download that only allow 3 x duplication (see http://play.starhub.com/music/index.do)

It certainly can be done. Just how?:)

Im not sure how, but I think you can make your mp3's into wma/v format. That way they can only play it on a pc. They could probably figure a way around that but that would prove not to be that easy.

I know that my local radio station puts up some of their personal hijinks wma/v's so people can download but not burn.
