GTA & Alcohol
Hey guys,
I bough myself a copy of alcohol a few weeks ago and its great. So today i bough GTA 3 second hand from gamestation and altho the cds are in mind condition i still want to back it up, so i used clonyxl to scan the protection on installation cd and it came up with Audio cd wich kinda stranged me but fine, so i went to alcohol choosed audio and off we go, but, it wont copy, so i was wondering if the protection is wrong or something, any clues guys? |
IIRC GTA3 uses Safedisk 2
Also if you patch up to v1.1 I think, it removes the Safedisk protection leaving only cd-checks |
audio protection on GTA 3???you gotta be kidding.if it doesn't start it's safedisc
try downloading protectionId http://protectionid.owns.it/ da best |
so is it possible to make a 1:1 copy ?
|
yep
|
It's just cd-check when you patch it to 1.1.
And of course it's the second audio cd that it looks for! ;) |
ok so wat settings should i use in alcohol in order for it to work?
|
use safedisk 2/3
|
ok ive tried that, still the same problem..
|
Have you patch it to 1.1?
Copy... no SEARCH about this. I'm shure instructions about copying and cracking has been asked before... |
but i dont get it, what use will it be to patch something thats on the hdd if im copying a cd ?
|
Just copy the contents of CD1 to your HD, make a new folder called Patch or something, Whack the v1.1 Update in there. Then burn back to CD using the same Volume Label. Fully Working Backup copy made. Just do a standard CD Copy with Nero on CD2 :)
Or failing that, Search the forums. Trust me, when this game came out, there was millions of threads relating to it. |
i will try it thanks a lot guys, cant live without this forums! xD oh and bounty, I GOT OUT OF THE CRIMSON ROOM! xD
|
As far as I remember, the update only changes the exe, so you can replace the exe on the cd with the new updated 1.1 exe.
The exe is in a data.cab file and so you will need i6comp to do it. When you do this, then the game will install fully and be patched up to v1.1 and play without trouble. Look here |
