Re-size Resolution for PC Games

Hi i was wonderin if u know of a program that can re-size the resolution of a PC game
Like i mean not being full screen so its in a little window so its easier to ALT TAB. Its for school LOL

alot of games have an option in the settings labled "window mode". Use that. I don't know any other way.
