RAR file? I'm stupid and need help, please!
 

I'm obviously a real beginner at this. But I bought the Hitman 2 PC game and am trying to get it going. It keeps asking for the CD even though I have the original in the drive.

I downloaded the patches, but don't know what I am doing.

It says to : "Replace the original HITMAN2.EXE executable with the one from the Executable Archive."

The file I downloaded was a RAR file. How do I extract it or whatever I'm supposed to do. How do I "replace" the file?

There is a sticky thread on top of this board called "Guides, Tutorials & Hints". In this thread is a link for you: "Can't deal with RAR-files......"

With this informations you will know how to extract the files from the rar-archive.
To replace the file you have to right-click the file and choose COPY. Then go to the folder where you have installed the game and see if the original file (same name) is in this basic folder.
If YES, right-click in the window (not on a file) and choose PASTE.
If NOT, search in the sub-folders for the original file.
When you choose PASTE, windows will ask you to overwrite the original file. Click YES!

This is a lot of trouble for a game I bought brand new......haha!
