Help please!

Hi guys,

I am completely new to the X-Box backup scene, but I've had a lot of experience with Playstation and PS2 games. I have had my xbox for quite some time and I'm now seriously thinking about getting it chipped. But I have some questions that I hope you can answer.

1. Is the Apple chip (latest one I presume, being sold from my local shop) any good?

2. Is backing up an X-Box game as easy as a PS2 game? e.g:
Use Nero to copy the disc and thats it, or is it more like PS1 where you have to apply a patch prior to burning?

Thanks in advance.

Wow

Wow, such an overwhelming response, can't anyone answer a couple of what should be straighforward questions around here?

Where are all you X-Box Experts?

Come on give me some answers.........

no idea what a apple chip is like but backing up games cannot be done with a pc drive,u need to ftp into your xbox and copy the files onto your pc and then make a iso and burn it

Too much trouble

Sounds like getting an xbox chipped is only half the battle to play backups to me. I thought it would just be a simple matter of getting the Xbox chipped and creating a backup game a-la Playstation 2. Why isn't this the case? I have a DVD writer and I understand that Xbox games are on DVD.

Can someone do a sticky on all the steps necessary to create a backup of an xbox game?

it's necessary because u cannot read a xbox game disk in a pc drive :)

Actually if you add a larger hdd to your xbox then backing up is hella easier. All you have to do is let DVD2Xbox copy your original to your hdd and your all set.

DVD2Xbox is a program that runs on the xbox. So its as easy as putting your original in your xbox and let it copy.

Tyler!
