HELP ME!!!

Yes, I am a noob, and yes I have read most posts but can only find one other person with KOTOR who has no idea of what he's doing.

I have downloaded the .rar file crack for v1.03. Can anyone be an absolute saint and tell me word for word how I install it.

To apply the crack you must follow these steps:
# Install the game complete as you normal would do
# Copy the crack (right click on the .exe file, then select copy)
# Go to the directory (folder) where you just installed the game
# There will be a file with the same name as the crack, replace it
(press CTRL + V at the same time) and if Windows asks if you want to
replace the file, then click yes. This is safe!

(Quote from the .nfo file !!!!)

I would copy the original exe to a safe place, just to keep a backup of the original file.....

Many thanks for your help, however the file I downloaded is a .rar file.

When you click on the file (cos I saved it to desktop first) it opens and I have three things in there. 1 is just a nameless folder, the other is a just an info folder and the third is the swkotor.exe, however if I right click the swkotor.exe file I get every option BUT copy!!!

What do i do??

You need to extract the file using your choice of extraction program. WinRAR is a great choice and you can get it at http://www.rarlab.com/, or if you already have it make sure you have the latest version to view the files in the archive.

Select the file you want to extract (swkotor.exe in your case) and extract it to either your KOTOR folder itself and accept if it asks to overwrite, or extract it to my document or the likes and follow Monty Burns method of copying it into your KOTOR folder. Be sure to create a new folder inside your KOTOR folder and name it backup or the likes, and copy the original swkotor.exe file into that folder so if anything goes wrong you still have the original and can apply another patch.

Many thanks. I think I can do it now.

However, yet another question.

The file I downloaded is quite a bit smaller than the existing file. Does that matter?

Also, I downloaded 2 files. The first was the crack for version 1.01 then second wasnt called a crack, it was called "fixed" for v1.03 (the version I have).

Should I be using the second one?

remove all existing cracks you have in place.

Update to official 1.03

apply everything in the 1.03 crack rar.

dear ryan...where's u get the crack for kotor 1.03?

thanx luci...but i couldn't get into any of the mirror servers provided...can anybody be kind enough to email the crack to me?

Disable any popup killers and adblocking software, including those in the latest Norton and ZoneAlarm programs. The first mirror will almost guaranteed work, but only if you disable all adblocking software.
